MELISSA BARTON
Melissa understands, better than almost anyone, that archives aren't dusty storage rooms. They're living arguments about who counts, what survives, and whose story gets told. As a curator at the Beinecke, one of the world's great sanctuaries of American manuscripts and rare books, she's spent her career ensuring that voices too often marginalized are held carefully and made permanent.
At Aubin, our Rewind pillar is precisely this: the belief that our own archives are evidence and nourishment. We've been combing through thirty years of film, correspondence, and community to understand how the political landscape has shifted, and how, stubbornly, defiantly, we’ve shifted with it.
She reminds us that preservation is itself a political act, and we're so glad she's in our story.
