Teresita's art asks us to look again, at landscape, at light, at the materials of the world and what they remember. She brings to everything she touches a rigorous, sensuous intelligence that insists on complexity in a culture that too often settles for simple.
Her presence in Meanwhile placed a visual artist's consciousness at the heart of a film about race, resistance, and shared breath. That was architecture, not decoration. And her relationship with Aubin through our fiscal sponsorship program has meant that our Workshop umbrella has been home to her vision.
Artists need infrastructure as much as institutions do. We're honored to have been part of hers, and her part of ours.
